Unable to connect to internet through wifi hot spot by mobile phone
Hi,
I upgraded my notebook Folio 9470m from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro, I get advantages (good!) but also issues.
The main issue: my PC connects to wifi networks generated by standard wifi router but when I use the wifi network generated by my mobile phone, as hot spot, there is no access to internet (I have a Windows Mobile but I noticed the same issue with an Android mobile phone).
Troubleshooting:
1) Through Network Diagnostic I get this error message: Windows Sockets Registry Entries Required For
Network Connectivity Are Missing
2) Looking through Device Manager, as far as I understand, it looks like there is no driver installed inside the PC for any wifi module

Hi all. Newby, and perhaps dummy, here!
Wifi internet is fine but if I plug wired internet stream into the ethernet socket nothing is recognised. It is as though the socket is completely dead. HP troubleshooter just reports no internet.
Any idea please?

Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter
On switch on it fails to find the wireless network, I have followed the procedure to reset the wireless adaptor and this has mixed results. Sometimes working, sometimes not. I have also followed a recomendation on this forum - uninstalling and then re-installing the network adaptor, all software is up to date. This becomming unworkable. This is a brand new PC (5 days). Any solutions please?

Matching wifi card to motherboard
I have a G7-1340dx that wasn't working. I replaced the motherboard. The motherboard HP number is 649948-001, which I matched up. The new motherboard also carried the number 31R23MB0000 (D26-12), which did not match the original. The motherboard seems to be working fine.
The wifi card on this unit was very messed up. It was an RTL8188ce. But the imprint under the battery on the laptop calls for an RT5390. So I ordered an RT5390. The unit will not boot with the new card in the slot.
The laptop also will not boot with the old card in the slot, but that might be a function of the card being badly abused.
Does anyone know how to match a motherboard to a wifi card? I think my next step is to try a new RT8188, but I'm groping in the dark.

hi, i just bought this laptop and the wifi originally worked fine. the driver was 17.0.1.5. I connected to my wifi and upgraded to Windows 10. My wifi stopped working after that. i could only see one weak SSID when before i could see several. I tried to upgrade the drivers but that didn't work. so i thought maybe there is something wrong with my Belkin router so i checked my other laptop and i could it see with full signal. my smartphone also sees it no problem. I then decided to downgrade back to Windows 8.1 and it was still the same. I tried to upgrade the drivers but that didn't work. I reverted back to 17.0.1.5. and it still doesn't work.
any help would be appreciated.

network problems on Laptop W103NA

IT wont let me connect to my Network Attached Storage, NAS drive in Windows 10 giving the error below,
Network Error

The network path was not found.
Any help appreciated, The Seagate central NAS drive works on my desktop computer either when it runs Windows or Linux Ubuntu (currently Ubuntu) and also on the previous HP laptop I have. IT has over 3 Terabyte of files on I need to access.
I phoned HP a few times and they said they couldnt help me and to take the laptop back to retailer to get replaced. I did that and the same issue occurred again. They refused to help me saying that its a problem with the Seagate Central NAS drive which works with every other computer, tablet and laptop I tried it with including previous HP envy 15 laptop, the J106sa.
Because they refuse to take ownership of the problem or help I have the option of either rejecting laptop as defective under Consumer Rights Act as it is faulty within 30 days of receipt or keep a laptop which doesnt allow me to access my files.

HP Pavilion g7-1150us Wireless adapter ralink ra5390
I am having a problem with my wifi wireless adapter. In the device manager is a asterick besides the wifi adapter card(Ralink ra5390). I have tried updating driver. No luck. The general information says its not working. I have replaced the card about four times over the past three years. I purchased another used on on ebay, but I got a message, upon trying to start up the puter with the replacement card, which said Wireless module not supported wlan module iD (702). i am not sure what Ralink 5390 card i need now.

Mu HP Support assistants is missing the MSI module and I can't connect to download the fix.
I receive a message that HP Support Assistant cannot find a connection to the internet and there can't send me the fix. But for some reason it can connect to the internet to let me search for things. After checking I found it was missing the HP Support Assistant MSI file. I have tried to find a way to download it but so far I can't find a way to do it. I downloaded a new version of HP Support Assistant but for some reason it did not include the MSI module.
And the only way the HP will assist me is by making me pay around $50 which I think SUCKS!

Often my Laptop did not recognize my Canon Printer on either of the three USB Ports even I reinstall
Sometimes print job is queue and did not print any thing. I need to press Alt + Ctrl+ Del ans select End Task or Cancel the print job.

My notebook usually automatically connects wirelessly to the Internet at home and work. It was working yesterday but not today.
I have checked my internet and it is fine, I have checked the connection with a Ethernet cable and it does not work. I attempted to connect to my phone's hotspot, this also didn't work.
I have not changed any settings on my notebook.
Please help, I am not very tech savvy but need to get this working.
