This is how my device manager looks:
i connected my laptop to wifi, for first few days everything went fine but suddenly one day my every(edge, chrome, firefox) browser showed a connection error saying 'unable to connect to the proxy server' i searched to internet and came to know about the proxy settings on LAN tab ( to uncheck the same ). i did unchecked and it worked !! but not for too long after a bit of surfing again the browser refused to connect with the same problem and when i again went to the LAN tab in internet options i found that the 'use proxy' was checked...... now thats unusual!. so.... whenever i am to surf the internet i must uncheck the proxy button again and again.
i have also noticed that my browser homepage is also changed to some malicious ad website... please help!

My wifi driver disappears from my HP Envy laptop. The driver is a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adaptor. Prior to and after upgrading the operating system to Windws 10, the computer would not display the Qualcommm upon startup. Rather, the computer would not detect any wifi capaility and any troubleshooting information provided was to plug in a cable for internet. Searching for the Qualcomm doesn't help. For the last 4 startups the Qualcom has not reappeared. We ethen removed the Windows 10 operating system and reverted back to Windows 8.1, Th e qualcomm and wifi appeared briefly, but the computer froze and now, following 4 start-ups it does not reappear. In rder to post this question, I've had t plug the computer in. Please advise.

Has anyone tried Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 631956-001 in the pavilion G7-1070 US, if so did it work and does it have 802.1 a/b/g/n
After a fresh install of Windows 8.1 it does not detect the wifi chipset. The listing under other devices in device manager is network controller. Tried to install this driver : http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp73001-73500/sp73310.exe but to no avail as since it still does not recognise the wifi. Ethernet lan is only showing in network adapters.
The PNP device ID of the network controller is:
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_B723&SUBSYS_804C103C&REV_00\4&1E830894&0&00E5
Need help please?
Hello All,
I booted my laptop up today and noticed the driver didn't come on for the Bluetooth. Usually it comes on with the WiFi but it's just no where to be found.
I can't locate it in Control Panel > Network and Internet.
It's not in Device Manager at all.
I conducted a search for "Bluetooth" in the Start > search program and files. The icon shows up, but when I click on it nothing happens.
I tried Run> service.msc and Bluetooth Service and Bluetooth Support Service are both set to automatic.
I've tried running sfc /scannow in Command Prompt. It reported verification 100 complete. Windows Resource did not find any integrity violations.
I tried unistalling update KB958488 and restarting but that didn't help.
I tried running Sytem Restore to an earlier point (31st May 2016) but that was unsuccessful because of error 0x80070005.
I tried installing the lastest drivers "Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows 7
5.60.350.6 20.7 MB May 17, 2016" from http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-dv6-2100-entertainment-notebook-pc-series/4041735/model/4099872#Z7_3054ICK0K8UDA0AQC11TA930O2
It seemed to have installed correctly but the bluetooth driver/app still won't start.
When I went to C:\SwSetup\SP45578 > Setup it asked to "repair installation for Bluetooth Software" I clicked OK. It stated to prepare to install, but then comes back with an error message "No Bluetooth Device was detected. Please make sure that your Bluetooth device is plugged in properly in order to continue installation".
I'm at a loss of what to try next. My only hope is System Restore but that won't complete successfully and there are no restore points further back. For some reason my System restore points keep being deleted, but that's another problem.
The only thing that has been updated from the last time I remember my Bluetooth working was an HP update for Quick Launch Buttons and HP Support Assistant which was on the 1st June 2016.
Please advise
Thanks in advance
L
I recently removed Windows 10 from my HP laptop and reinstalled Windows 7 with the help of a tech. Since then I can't print from my HP Wireless printer. Is this because I switched operating systems and how can I fix this problem.
My WIFI Connections are no longer showing up on my laptop. I tried to reboot the computer, but that didn't help. When I go to my device manager there is a red triangle next to network adapter and it says that it "was not able to load properly"
My laptop is 4 months old, and worked fine up till this morning.
I notice that there are several other users on this board from today that state that the WIFI is also gone on there HP...
Whats the deal?
I'd also like to add that it has nothing to do with my router as I am connected to another laptop at the moment. All my other devices read the wifi signal, just not the hp 17-p161dx
Recently i have changed the internet coonection and after that the I am unable to access wifi in my laptop HP ProBook 4440S.OS in the system is Windo 8 and 64Bit. I tried to upgrade the WIFI device driver software but no result.
