I have a Pavilion dv8t -1000 notebook PC (NQ226AV) windows 7 Pro that apparently has an adapter that will not connect to my rounter. This happen maybe a month ago. My ethernmet connection is fine. I have checked with my cable provider and Microsoft and both say it's the adapter. All my apple products work on WiFi (2 iPads and 2 iPhones). I tried Intel's Manual Diagnostics Tool and it failed the Association Test, i.e., no link between the devices. Also, I am using an ASUS Dual Band 3x3 802.11AC Gigbit Router.
One other piece of info, I have alway had an intermittant issue with the the volume - Treble and Bass flashing on the screen or my WiFi light going off and on occasionally after a couple hours of use. Now both of these issues are okay now but no WiFi .
I would like to use my WiFi,so please advise me what's would be my best option?
1. Get in touch with HP and paid 100 bucks or so to ID the issue
2. Trash it and get a Lenovo or new tablet pc
3. Take it to a repair shop and see if it's fixable
4. Try some home remedies that might work
Thanks for your help!
