Yes, a client asked me to repair her HP Pavilion dv5 system. Well, after restoring the system, I attempted to log on to the enternet via an Ethernet cable connected to my D-Link DIR-655 Router. The HP laptop does not recognize the Router. So, I attempted to log on to the Internet via one of my D-Link Hotspots. According to the Wireless information for this particular connection shows that there are four bars and the signal strength is good. Yet I still cannot connect to the Internet.
Accessing the Device Manager, it shows that the Network adapter is an Atheos AR9285 WiFi Adapter. Clicking on the General tab said that the device is working properly. Clicking on the Driver Tab says the Driver Version is: 8.0.0.316.
I attempted to Update the driver but that didn't work. I then Uninstalled the driver and rebooted the system hoping that the driver will be reloaded and any parts missing will be restored.
But tell me, why can't I access the Internet via the Ethernet cable connected directly to the laptop and to D-Link DIR-655 Router?
